Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6

Design: Lighter and Wider, But Still a Foldable Compromise

Samsung finally listened at 239g, the Z Fold 6 is 14g lighter than the Fold 5 and feels way more usable closed. The wider cover screen (6.3-inch now vs Fold 5’s narrow one) is a game-changer for typing and quick replies feels like a normal phone. Unfolded, the 7.6-inch inner screen is immersive for multitasking, but the crease is still there (though less noticeable than before).

I love the matte titanium frame it resists fingerprints better than glossy rivals, and IP48 rating (plus improved hinge) survived a sandy beach day. Pink looks fun without being too loud; Navy or Silver Shadow are stealthier. Versus Vivo X Fold 3 Pro or Pixel 9 Pro Fold, Samsung’s build feels premium, but it’s thicker closed (12.1mm) than OnePlus Open’s 11.7mm.

S Pen support (case needed) is great for notes, but no slot like Ultra annoying. Battery cover screen is handy, but unfolded it’s a tablet in your pocket love/hate.

Display: Brighter and Smoother Than Ever

Cover: 6.3-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X (2376×968, 410 PPI), inner: 7.6-inch (2160×1856, 373 PPI) both 120Hz LTPO, HDR10+, up to 2600 nits. Brighter than Fold 5’s 1750 nits outdoors no squinting. Anti-reflective coating cuts glare, and unfolded aspect ratio is perfect for split-screen (three apps easy).

Versus iPhone 16 Pro Max’s 6.9-inch, Fold 6 wins for productivity reading PDFs or editing docs side-by-side is addictive. Crease visible at angles, but ignore it after a week. Always-on with AI summaries useful.

Performance: Snapdragon Power with AI That Actually Helps

Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy with 12GB RAM flies. Gaming no throttle, 8K editing smooth. Versus S25 Ultra’s newer chip, Fold 6 still holds up in 2025 One UI 7 AI like Interpreter (real-time translation unfolded) or Note Assist (summarizes meetings) is killer for work.

Storage 256GB-1TB, no microSD. 7 years updates till 2031. Wi-Fi 6E (not 7 like S25 series), but UWB and satellite SOS solid.

Cameras: Good, But Not Ultra-Level

Triple outer: 50MP main (OIS), 12MP ultra-wide, 10MP 3x telephoto; inner 4MP under-display, cover 10MP. Photos sharp/daylight vibrant, 3x zoom handy. Night mode improved, but ultra-wide average in low light.

Versus S25 Ultra’s 200MP + 5x, Fold 6 loses detail at distance fine for casual, not pro. Unfolded shots with main cam feel weird holding, but cover screen natural. Video 8K 30fps stable. AI editing fun, but Samsung’s oversaturation vs iPhone natural.

Software and Battery: AI Productivity + All-Day Life

One UI 6.1 (now 7 on Android 15) Galaxy AI shines unfolded: Circle to Search, Live Translate, Sketch to Image. Flex mode for video calls hands-free is genius. Battery 4400mAh lasts full day (6-7 hours screen), but heavy unfolded use drains faster 45W wired, 15W wireless.

Price and Final Thoughts

$1,899 launch (256GB), now ~$1,200-1,400 discounted/renewed in November 2025. Worth over Z Fold 5 for wider cover/brightness.

The Z Fold 6 is still the foldable king in 2025 productivity unmatched, AI useful, lighter design. Gripes: cameras mid for price, crease/battery compromises. Versus slab S25 Ultra, Fold for multitasking; iPhone for polish.

If you want a phone + tablet in one yes. 9/10 my workhorse!
