Titanium sides (like the Ultra) make it tougher and lighter than the S23’s aluminum. I got Amber Yellow, which pops without being too loud other colors like Onyx Black, Marble Gray, or Cobalt Violet are solid too. Exclusive Jade Green or Sapphire Blue online if you hunt.
Gorilla Glass Victus 2 front/back, IP68 survived a pool dunk accidentally. The 6.2-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X (1080 x 2340, 416 PPI) is bright at 2600 nits (way better than S23’s 1750), with HDR10+ and always-on that’s more useful now with AI widgets. 120Hz LTPO (1-120Hz) is smooth, and the smaller bezels make it feel modern. Versus iPhone 16 Pro, Samsung’s screen wins for vibrancy outdoors. Fingerprint sensor is ultrasonic and fast no complaints.
Performance: Snappy with Galaxy AI Magic
Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy (or Exynos 2400 in some regions) it’s a monster with 8GB RAM. Everything flies: gaming on max (no heat like S23 sometimes), multitasking, and the new Galaxy AI features are actually useful. Circle to Search? Game-changer for quick lookups. Live Translate for calls, Interpreter for conversations, Chat Assist for texting feels futuristic, and smoother than iPhone’s Apple Intelligence in some ways (though Apple catches up).
Storage 128/256/512GB UFS 4.0, no microSD. One UI 6.1 on Android 14 (now One UI 7/Android 15), with 7 years updates till 2031 beats Apple’s promise. Wi-Fi 6E (not 7 like S24 Ultra), Bluetooth 5.3, UWB for better tracking. Satellite SOS expanded, worked in a dead zone once.

Cameras: Solid Upgrade, AI Boost
50MP main (f/1.8 OIS), 12MP ultra-wide, 10MP 3x telephoto same hardware as S23 but better processing. Photos are sharper with more detail, especially in 50MP mode, and Nightography is improved. AI editing like Generative Edit (remove objects, fill backgrounds) is fun and works well better than S23’s basic tools. 3x zoom is good, but no 5x like iPhone 16 Pro or Ultra’s 10x.
12MP selfies with better skin tones. Video 8K 30fps, super stable 4K 60fps. Colors vibrant, but iPhone more natural. Versus S23, low-light and AI make noticeable difference.
Software and Battery: AI Everywhere, Great Life
One UI 7 packed with Galaxy AI Note Assist summarizes meetings, Sketch to Image turns doodles into art. Love it for productivity. Battery 4000 mAh lasts full day+ (7-8 hours screen), better efficiency than S23 despite similar size. 25W wired (50% in 30 min), 15W wireless slow vs rivals, but holds charge well. 45W on Plus/Ultra is missed here.
Price and Final Thoughts
Got mine for $799 (256GB), now ~$650-700 discounted in November 2025. Worth it over S23 for AI and brighter screen.
The S24 is the perfect compact flagship in 2025 feels premium, AI is actually helpful, and it ages gracefully. Better than S23 for daily use, holds own vs iPhone 16 Pro (Android customization wins). If you want small but powerful, skip Plus/Ultra S24 nails it. 9/10 my go-to recommendation!
