Design: Thinnest Foldable Ever, Feels Like a Normal Phone
Oppo nailed the “world’s thinnest” claim closed, it’s slimmer than most slab phones, and open at 4.21mm, it’s like holding a tablet without the bulk. At 229g, it’s lighter than the Z Fold 6 and even the Honor Magic V3. The titanium hinge is rock-solid, and the crease is barely there better than my old Open. I got Cosmic Black; it looks premium with Misty White as the other global option (Dusky Purple China-exclusive).
IP68 rating survived a coffee spill and rainno issues. The 6.62-inch outer AMOLED cover screen is perfect for quick tasks, and unfolding to the 8.12-inch inner display feels magical for multitasking or Netflix. Versus S25 Ultra’s flat 6.9-inch, N5’s fold makes it way more versatile without the weight. No S Pen like Samsung, but Oppo’s stylus works great for notes.
Display: Bright, Smooth, and Crease-Minimal
Outer 6.62-inch FHD+ AMOLED and inner 8.12-inch 2K both 120Hz LTPO, HDR10+, up to 4500 nits peak. Colors pop, blacks deep, and the anti-reflective coating cuts glare better than S25 Ultra. Unfolded, it’s immersive for split-screen or gaming Dolby Atmos stereo speakers sound loud and clear.
Crease? Almost invisible at angles Oppo’s best yet. Versus Pixel 9 Pro Fold, N5’s brighter and smoother. Always-on with AI info is handy.

Performance: Snapdragon 8 Elite + AI That Actually Helps
Snapdragon 8 Elite with 16GB RAM blazes through everything. Genshin ultra 60fps no throttle, 8K editing smooth. Versus S25 Ultra’s same chip, N5’s thinner body warms a bit more, but vapor chamber keeps it cooler than expected.
ColorOS 15 on Android 15 clean, fast, 5 years updates. AI features shine: Circle to Search, Live Translate (calls in multiple languages), Generative Edit for photos. Mac connect for file sharing is seamless dragged pics from N5 to my MacBook instantly. Versus One UI 7, ColorOS feels lighter.
Storage up to 1TB, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, satellite SOS.
Cameras: Hasselblad-Tuned Triple That’s Practical
Hasselblad triple: 50MP main (Sony LYT-700 OIS), 8MP ultra-wide, 50MP periscope (6x optical, 30x digital). Daylight shots vibrant, low-light clean with minimal noise. 6x zoom sharp for concerts/portraits better than Pixel 9 Pro Fold, close to S25 Ultra but more natural colors.
Dual 8MP selfies (inner + cover) sharp with good skin tones. Video 4K 60fps stable, 8K 30fps. AI editing removes objects/fills backgrounds perfectly. Versus X200 Pro’s 200MP, N5 loses extreme reach but wins thinner body.
Software and Battery: Smart AI with All-Day Power
ColorOS 15 AI: Touch to Share with Mac/Apple Watch, Generative Edit. Battery 5600mAh silicon-carbon lasts 1.5 days (8-9 hours screen heavy) beats Z Fold 6, matches S25 Ultra efficiency. 80W wired (full ~40 min), 50W wireless faster than Samsung.
Price and Final Thoughts
$1,867 SGD launch (~$1,870 USD), now ~$1,660 global import. India ~₹1,29,999 expected. No US official, but import easy.
The Oppo Find N5 is the foldable I’ve waited for thinnest ever, practical size, AI that works, great battery/cameras. Minor gripes: no US availability, 6x zoom not 10x like Ultra. Versus S25 Ultra, N5 thinner/lighter with Mac integration; Samsung for S Pen/DeX.
If foldables scared you with bulk N5 changes that. 10/10, my daily driver!
