The S24+ feels premium at 196 grams and 158.5 x 75.9 x 7.7 mm taller than the S24 but slimmer than the S23 Ultra. Titanium frame (new for the series) makes it lighter and stronger than the S23+’s aluminum, with a matte finish that repels fingerprints. I went with Cobalt Violet, which shifts subtly in light gorgeous! Onyx Black is stealthy, Marble Gray classy, and exclusives like Jade Green add flair.
Gorilla Glass Victus 2 front/back, IP68 tossed it in a bag with keys, no scratches. The 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X (QHD+ 1440 x 3120, 513 PPI) is a highlight: 2600 nits bright (beats S23+’s 1750), HDR10+, and LTPO 1-120Hz for buttery scrolling. Versus iPhone 16 Pro’s 6.3-inch, Samsung’s bigger canvas crushes for videos or split-screen, and anti-reflective coating cuts glare better. Always-on display with AI glances is handy. Ultrasonic fingerprint is lightning fast.
Flat sides improve grip over curved Ultras, but it’s still a two-hander S24 if you want pocketable.
Performance: AI-Powered Beast Mode
Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy (or Exynos 2400 regionally) with 12GB RAM overkill smooth. Gaming on ultra (no throttling), editing 8K clips in CapCut, or running Galaxy AI without hiccups. Better vapor chamber cooling than S23+ means sustained performance. iPhone 16 Pro’s A18 Pro edges in some benchmarks, but Samsung’s 7-year updates (till 2031) and DeX for desktop mode win for longevity.
Storage 256/512GB UFS 4.0, no microSD. One UI 6.1 (now 7 on Android 15) Galaxy AI is the star: Circle to Search for instant info, Live Translate for real-time calls (worked flawlessly in Spanish), Photo Assist for object removal. Interpreter mode for face-to-face chats is mind-blowing. Wi-Fi 6E (Ultra has 7), Bluetooth 5.3, UWB, satellite SOS full connectivity.

50MP main (f/1.8 OIS), 12MP ultra-wide, 10MP 3x telephoto hardware like S24 but better AI processing. Photos are detailed with natural colors (less saturated than S23 series), and Night mode crushes low light. Generative Edit fills in backgrounds magically, Instant Slow-Mo adds frames to videos AI upgrades make it feel next-gen over S23+.
12MP selfies with improved portrait mode. Video 8K 30fps, super-steady 4K 120fps from main lens. Versus iPhone 16 Pro, Samsung’s AI editing is more playful, but Apple’s video is smoother for pros. No 5x like Ultra, but 3x is plenty for most.
Software and Battery: All-Day Power with Smarts
One UI 7 loaded with AI: Note Assist transcribes and summarizes meetings, Sketch to Image turns doodles into art. Love the customization and Knox security. Battery: 4900 mAh lasts 1.5 days easy (8-9 hours screen), better efficiency than S23+’s 4700 mAh. 45W charging to full in ~65 minutes, 15W wireless, reverse wireless faster than S24’s 25W.
Price and Final Thoughts
Snagged mine for $999 (256GB), now ~$750-850 discounted in November 2025. Killer value over Ultra if you skip S Pen.
The S24+ is Goldilocks perfection big screen/battery without Ultra weight, AI that actually helps daily. Beats S23+ in brightness, performance, and smarts; holds strong vs iPhone 16 Pro for Android fans. If you want more than compact S24 but not phablet, this is it. 9.5/10 my favorite S24 variant!
